More shots taken from "the prom" as promised. The sun was setting at Oberon Bay. The last rays of sunlight cast made this little creek look almost mirror-like.
We were on our final night of our long hiking trip. The campsite was devoid of people. It was just us, the fading sun, and a creek snaking back to the mother sea. @Babul Bhatt: the sky is beautiful to begin with, God's creation is awe inspiring.
Wonderfully dreamy... I love the way this photo makes my eyes follow the water all the way to the bay.

@Cheap Camera Tricks: I was fortunate that the angle of the sun was just as it was when I snapped this picture. Any higher or lower, and the same 'dreamy' effect would not be achieved. If the sun were higher, the strip of beach would be overexposed. Any lower and the creek would just blend into the sand strip.
This is a wonderful image - dreamy colors - reflections - silhouettes – marvelous.

@badala: Thanks. Looking at it now makes me feel dreamy too.
the light that spore out the colors just amaze me ! Beautiful !

@Kheoh Yee Wei: Yea its amazing isn't it. Just happened to be at the right place and the right time. Fortunately we set up camp at that particular area if not I would have missed this. Thanks for your comments!
Awesome shot! I do have one further question...how did you manage your water situation? Did you lug all your water around or did you use a filter or chemical purification from streams to get by?
24 Jun 2007 9:03am
@Wayne: Carried some water (mainly for drinking and more for emergency purposes) in but obviously it didn't last the whole 3 days. Dehydration would be a major problem during summer hikes. Didn't use a filter or chemical purification, had to lose weight to make up for camera gear. One way is to bring the water (from the creek) to a rolling boil and leave it boiling for another minute to kill all microorganisms - that's what we did. During winter, it would take ages to boil water but naturally you would consume less anyway. If you can afford it, get one of those UV steripens - it is extremely light and efficient
Great leading line to the top of the photo.

@Evie: Thanks
WOW WOW WOW.... i just dont have words to describe this shot. Perfect exposure, nice division between sky and the ground and lovely colors. An all-in-one shot pal. EXCELLENT.
I saw your earlier shots and you are a master of landscapes. Be my Guru. :)

@Rahul: Haha, thanks Rahul but I am no guru. Just another regular amateur.
Would you believe that this was a shot that I was about to bin? When I took this shot, it looks awful on the LCD. Seriously the small LCD on the back of the camera doesn't do pictures any justice. Fortunately, I left it and uploaded the whole lot on my external HDD. When you put it on a larger monitor, it looks absolutely different. Let's just say I got lucky. Always refrain from deleting it on the spot even thought they look horrible - unless you really have space constraints.
Beautiful composition!

@Maria: Honestly, it was so cold, I didn't realise how beautiful it really was till I actually got home and had a look at the pictures. I was so anxious to get back into the tent and under the covers of my sleeping bag.
This is awesome, really beautiful scene!
